MS-23 Map, Directory, and Statistics of Permitted Colorado Coal Mines, 1983 Download Publication Details Map, directory, and statistics of permitted Colorado coal mines, 1983. 147 pages. 1 plate (1:1,000,000). Digital PDF download. MS-23D Excerpt from the Preface: The purpose of the publication is to provide insight into the Colorado coal industry. This report presents geologic, production, and location data for permitted Colorado coal mines. Mine information is presented for active, interim and reclamation permits. Exploration mines are not included due to restriction of access to these Mined Land Reclamation Division files. The accompanying map locates mines and lists them by county, coal mine name, and parent company. The information contained in this report is the best available at the time of writing, August 1, 1983. This directory is an update and revision of Map Series MS-15 published in 1981. Note that MS-23 was later updated by Resource Series RS-29 and RS-32 for coal information as of 1989 and 1995-96, respectively. Citations Rushworth, Peter, Bruse S. Kelso, and L. R.
