B-35 Proceedings of a Symposium on Geothermal Energy and Colorado Download Publication Details Eleven papers dealing with geology, geophysics, exploration, economics, utilization, and regulation of geothermal resources in Colorado. 102 pages. Digital PDF download. B-35D As a result of the passage of the Federal Geothermal Steam Act of 1970, many persons and companies had approached the Colorado Geological Survey concerning information about this resource in Colorado. Consequently, as very little information is available about this subject, and to bring this valuable resource to attention a symposium concerning the geothermal resources of Colorado was held in Denver, Colorado on December 6, 1973. Thirteen papers were presented in an attempt to answer the following questions: What is geothermal energy? What is the geothermal energy potential of Colorado? If and when geothermal resource development comes, what will be the impact on Colorado, not only from an economic standpoint but more importantly from an environmental standpoint?
