Details

The purpose of this publication is to map the bedrock geologic units and surficial deposits of this 7.5-minute quadrangle located east of the Colorado Springs metro area in east-central Colorado. Much of this quadrangle is covered in Quaternary deposits, but erosion has exposed bedrock formations of the Denver Basin. These range in age from Eocene to Cretaceous. The youngest bedrock formation is the Dawson Arkose.

CGS geologists Matthew L. Morgan and Jonathan L. White completed the field work on this project during the spring and summer of 2010. 2 plates: map, 3-D oblique view, and cross section. Also included are GIS data. Digital ZIP/GIS/PDF download. OF-12-05D
