MS-19 The Coal Bed Methane Resources of Colorado

$0.00

The coal bed methane resources of Colorado. As coal undergoes the process of coalification, it emits methane which is the principal component of natural gas. The methane may remain trapped in the coal or in the surrounding strata. Through a series of grants, the CGS and cooperative parties measured the gas content of over 200 coal cores, monitored industry drilling activity for coal bed methane and generated an extensive database, in part shown on this 1984 map. This map depicts areas where total gas content of coal are low to high (0 to 400 cubic feet of gas per ton of coal). Also shown on the map are the data from the 200 coal core sample points and test wells for coal bed methane with their corresponding data tables. 1 plate (1:500,000). Digital PDF download. MS-19D
