OF-86-06 Vega Reservoir Access Road and Vicinity: Assessment of Landslide and Related Problems Download Publication Details An assessment of landslide and related problems along the Vega Reservoir Access Road and vicinity. Shows landslides by relative age and other surficial deposits. 1 plate (1:4,800). Digital PDF download. OF-86-06D The Mesa County access road that extends from the junction with Highway 330 to the Vega reservoir dam sits on and is built from materials derived from weathering and mass-wasting products of the underlying sandstones, claystones, and shales of the Wasatch Formation. These materials are notorious for slope instability when they occur on or are placed on steeper slopes. This detailed map shows the distribution of landslides and other features that could affect the serviceability of the road. Features depicted were present in late summer 1985.
