Neogene

The Neogene is a geological period (late Tertiary) of the Cenozoic Era, and of the Phanerozoic Eon. During this time, the San Juan Volcanic field, in southwestern Colorado, produced volcanic rock that forms the largest remnant of a major composite volcanic field.
