The Upper Crow Creek area was investigated to assist the Colorado Ground Water Commission in their deliberations concerning the possible creation of a designated groundwater basin. The study area coincides with the drainage area of Upper Crow Creek on its western, southern, and southeastern sides, the outcrop of the Ogallala Formation on the northeastern side, and the Colorado-Wyoming border on the northern side. This study also provides a review of water use in groundwater wells and surface water both historically and as of 1984.
