RN-06D From the abstract: Gold placer deposits occur in the Iron Springs Divide area in Moffat County, Colorado. This area contains several historic mining districts including the Fourmile, Lay, and Timberlake Mining District. Placers in these areas contain gold and, in some areas, heavy minerals that contain critical elements. This report provides a summary of the geology, mineral deposits, and mining history of this area. A bibliography and internal Colorado Geological Survey (CGS) historical documents are also included in this document.
