These mine sites had exhibited extreme, significant, or potentially significant environmental degradation (ratings = 1, 2, 3) during the course of a forest-wide inventory of abandoned mines previously conducted by the Colorado Geological Survey. Provided in this report for each of these mines are the mining history, geology, site description, waste and hazard characteristics, and migration pathways (groundwater, surface water, soil, and air).
