Yule Marble

Ordinary limestone turns into Colorado’s State Rock

Colorado’s Official State Rock, Yule Marble was created by heat from the Treasure Mountain laccolith. The white area in the image to the right is the dump for non-commercial fragments of the quarry operation. This pure, white stone was used in the Tomb of the Unknowns and the Lincoln Memorial.
