$0.00

General discussion of radon: its sources, movement and testing; state concerns; list of testing firms. 11 pages. Digital PDF download. IS-24D

Radon, a naturally occurring radioactive gas and its radon daughter (decay) products, has been recognized for more than 86 years. It was not until 1983 that a possible connection between radon in homes and lung cancer was recognized by public health officials. This publication discusses what radon gas is, where it occurs, how it is measured, how it concentrates, and testing methods to indicate its presence and concentration. It also discusses the state’s approach to the radon problem.
