Contains all ambient water-quality data for Colorado contained in the EPA’s nationwide Storage and Retrieval (STORET) database through January 1998. CGS formatted the database for Microsoft Access 97. Data was collected by government agencies extending back to 1960s. This publication is superseded by the on-line database referred to as the Water Quality Portal (WQP), which is a cooperative service sponsored by the United States Geological Survey (USGS), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the National Water Quality Monitoring Council (NWQMC). It serves over 300 million water result records from EPA STORET, the USGS National Water Information System (NWIS) and the U.S. Department of Agriculture Sustaining the Earth’s Watersheds, Agricultural Research Data System (STEWARDS).
