John C. Frye Memorial Award in Environmental Geology from the Geological Society of American and American Association of State Geologist.  Awarded in Portland OR in 2009 for the 2008 publication, Collapsible Soils in Colorado .

Best Technical Presentation at the FHWA-sponsored  26th Northwest Geotechnical Workshop, Seattle, WA.   Awarded in 2000 for presentation on the geology and geomorphology of the DeBeque Canyon landslide.
