Seismometer Networks

This map shows active seismometer networks in Colorado. Networks operated by different entities are shown with different colors. Seismometer networks are necessary to accurately measure location, magnitude, and intensity of seismic activity for research and public safety. You may notice that coverage in Colorado is sparse and unevenly distributed. CGS will be adding to the seismometer network beginning in summer of 2016.

For further information about Colorado seismometer locations and extensive earthquake information, go to the Colorado Geological Survey Earthquake and Late Cenozoic Fault and Fold Map Server.

NOTE: THE EARTHQUAKE AND CENOZOIC FAULT AND FOLD MAP SERVER IS DOWN UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. In the mean time, you may refer directly to the USGS’ Quaternary faults database map and the accompanying information page
