Ancient Colorados – Colorado Convention Center

Denver, CO – Point of Geological Interest #F19

Ancient Colorados: pictures

The newly renovated Center contains the exhibit “Ancient Colorados” in its grand hallway. Commissioned by the City of Denver in partnership with the Denver Museum of Nature and Science, there are ten large murals that depict scenes from Colorado’s prehistoric past during different geological ages. Each painting has a companion display that shows photographs of the outcrops today, plus fossil evidence that was used to create the scene. This permanent exhibit is available during Colorado Convention Center events only. An exhibit brochure is available at the Center’s information kiosk.
